Certainly, with their protection woes during the pre-season they could certainly use a capable starting caliber player but I am not clamoring for them to sign him.

The Dallas Cowboys will release offensive guard Leonard Davis , ESPN Dallas reports. Davis met with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who told him of the news. Jones also met with Marc Colombo, who said he has not been told he has been released, but that is still an option.

The Lions are expected to sign veteran guard Leonard Davis, Aaron Wilson of Scout.com reports.
Davis, 33, was the second overall pick of the 2001 NFL Draft out of Texas by the Arizona Cardinals. Davis has started 155 games over his ten year career, the last four of which was spent with the Dallas Cowboys, who released Davis for salary cap purposes after the lockout was lifted.

Aaron Wilson of Profootball.scout.com reports the Detroit Lions conducted an extensive bye week workout Thursday, auditioning former Lions starting running back Kevin Smith and former Cowboys Pro Bowl offensive guard Leonard Davis as well as 22 other free agents, according to a league source.
