Levi Johnston’s Mexicanness Reported In GQ

You know that GQ feature from two weeks ago that was WIDELY reported all over the media featuring newly revealed Mexican Levi Johnston posing shirtless? Turns out the guy who wrote the accompanying article revealed Levi’s Mexicanness in it. But obviously, NO ONE READ THE ARTICLE, so it took your ace reporter to discover it from Mario Lopez on Twitter yesterday. Now that it’s out, we learn that Levi told GQ that it’s his dad who is “Mexican or half-Mexican or something.” That fuzziness on the details is the author’s–John Jeremiah Sullivan–and, presumably, not Levi’s. But at least that solves the mystery about where Levi’s dirty Mexicanness comes from.

Also interesting is the reminder we received from Transracial that Levi’s ex-girlfriend (the one he left for Bristol Palin) was Lanecia Garcia. Looks like Levi was keeping it in the family until that suelta Bristol came along. Now that she’s kicked him to the curb, he’s back on the chili pepper train. Reports GQ:

It’s safe to say Levi’s type is a well-put-together petite brunet with strong mom qualities and a flirty side. Maggie [Rodriguez, the CBS reporter who interviewed him and whom he has a crush on] was a Latina Bristol, a Bristolita, and Levi had already mentioned, in this connection, that his dad is Mexican, or half Mexican.

Look, we’ll draw the stereotypical conclusions if you don’t mind, J.J. Anyway, mystery solved. Levi’s dad Keith Johnston is Mexican, or half Mexican. And the religious right’s hope for 2012 is complicit in the Latino New World Order. We are happy.
