Lil Wayne to star in a movie…The Patriots

Lil Wayne, who has the hottest single “Lollipop” right now, is to be co-star in an upcoming motion picture called The Patriots, which will also star Forest Whitaker.

The movie has begun filming in Weezy’s hometown of New Orleans earlier in the week. The movie is about a basketball team composed of players from five different schools before the Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.

The character Lil Wayne will be playing is named “Lamont” and he is a student of Al Collins High School.

Forest Whitaker is also in another movie right now, Street Kings, with Common and The Game in the movie as well. Whitaker plays the coach of a team who is trying to lead them to a championship.

Robert Eisele, author of The Great Debaters, wrote the story.

The director of this film is Tim Story, who has also directed Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

The movie is to be released around Thanksgiving and Lil Wayne’s new album The Carter should be released on June 10^th.
