A Florida man wants rappers Lil Wayne and Birdman to show him respect — for using his voice on a song with that title. Thomas Marasciullo filed a copyright infringement lawsuit Friday in a Manhattan federal court against the rappers, their record label and various music distribution outlets. NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. rapper Lil Wayne pleaded guilty on Thursday to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in a July 2007 incident and will serve a year in prison, New York City prosecutors said. Lil Wayne, 27, who won best rap album at the 2009 Grammy Awards and whose real name is Dwayne Carter, agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors and will be sentenced at New York State Supreme Court in February. Lil Wayne has two new projects which are about to be drop. Weezy’s much delayed rock inspired album “The Rebirth” has been given a December 15th released date . There is also a controversial documentary about the rapper which tackles his public persona and syrup addiction that has been given a DVD release date. Lil Wayne took legal action against the documentary filmmakers to block the film that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. Check out the trailer if you missed it.
