Ever since the promotional images and trailer for the new live-action Cinderella hit the Internet, there has been much speculation about the digital alterations used to  achieve Lily James' teeny-tiny waistline. In light of the public outcry, the actress decided to address the controversy head-on in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times.

“I naturally have a really small waist,” the actress said. “The skirt’s big and the corset pulls me in, and that’s the point. That’s the shape [costume designer] Sandy Powell created.”

For all the haters out there, James also had this to say: “I think it’s all very hypocritical, and they contradict themselves, and they’re drawing more attention to it. I think all that stuff’s so negative, and you’ve got to let it wash over your head,” she said adding, “I’m so healthy. I’ve got hips and boobs and a bum and a small waist.”

However, some don't fully agree with James' rationale. Jessica Willingham from Bustle writes

"Making the transition from animation to IRL princesses is tricky enough for producers and writers without the added corset. Disney viewers today respond to a new-age princess with different ideas about her own life and beauty. Disney dropped the “I-need-a-man” storyline in 'Frozen' and watched the money pile up. 'Frozen' is the highest-grossing animated film of all time, according to Variety. So why would Disney choose to take a step back by dressing James in this unreal corset? It’s completely unnecessary in order to connect with their audience. What were they thinking? More importantly, what is wrong with James’ already naturally thin shape?!"

So, there you have it, folks. Some final thoughts on this whole Cinderella waistline fiasco. Now, let's all move on and discuss the latest Hollywood body issue that currently has the internet baffled. Like, what's up with Shia LaBeouf's new hair
