Emanuel Ungaro 'Furious' Over Lindsay Lohan Collaboration

The heart-shaped pasties were not popular with critics.
Last month, Lindsay Lohan's debut collection as "artistic advisor" for Emanuel Ungaro garnered more negative press than any collection in recent history. Nearly every critic dismissed head designer Estrella Arch's first collection for the storied label as "an embarrassment," with some puzzling over the decision to send models with pasties on their nipples and foreheads down the runway.

Now there's yet another name to add to the list of the unimpressed: the label's founder, Emanuel Ungaro. Ungaro retired in 2005, leaving the house in the care of an American investment company. When asked about Lohan's involvement in the house of Ungaro at a Portuguese film festival, Ungaro said, "Lindsay Lohan's collaboration was a disaster...I am furious but I can't do anything about it."

"[The label] is in the process of losing its soul...That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls."
