The Texas congressman saw a town hall in his home district interrupted by angry protesters, who decried Democrats' plan to reform the health care system. According to some reports, it's part of a planned Republican push-back against health care reform.
From an article at the New York Times:
Day One of the Democrats’ offensive on overhauling health care apparently did not go well for Representative Lloyd Doggett of Texas, who was shouted down by an angry crowd during a town-hall style meeting in Austin on Saturday.
Several hundred people chanted “Just Say No!” and “Just Vote No!” and followed Mr. Doggett to his car, preventing him from leaving, according to an organizer of the event.
Update, 5:25 p.m.: The protest was coordinated by a looseknit group of conservative voters who have worked in the past with the Texas Republican Party and Americans for Prosperity, a national conservative organization.
