Former Seattle Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu sat out the entire season due to a knee injury, according to Jeff Fendotin of the National Football Post.
“It was just injury-related,” said Fendotin’s source. “He wasn’t 100 percent and didn’t feel he was ready to go.”
Tatupu plans on making a comeback in 2012 after rehabbing his knee and spending some quality time with is family.

I am hearing increased rumblings that Lofa Tatupu will be returning to the Seattle Seahawks before the pre-season season ends.
Tatupu has gone un-signed since refusing to take a pay cut and he has watched as several other Seattle starters have restructured their deals. Aaron Curry left nearly $5 million on the table to buy two additional years of freedom so he can hit the open market after his fourth accrued season. At least the writing was on the wall with Matt Hasselbeck; this last “parting of ways” was a blind side.
There are more than initial reports indicated as well. Apparently, the Seahawks tried to sign (among others), free agent linebaker Takeo Spikes and he ended up chosing San Diego over Seattle and San Francisco. Seattle also had contact with free agent OLB/DE Travis LaBoy as well.

The losses began adding up before the Seahawks played a 2011 game. Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was not re-signed and middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu was released, leaving Leroy Hill and Marcus Trufant as the only players who remained from the Super Bowl team.
