Quarterback Aaron Rodgers accused Seattle Seahawks defensive end Darryl Tapp of biting him during the Green Bay Packers' 27-17 victory last season. Tapp steadfastly denies that allegation.  

Thursday's NFL news briefs: A team spokesman said three-time Pro Bowl middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu went on the injured reserve list while he was having surgery to repair a torn left pectoral muscle in Alabama. Tatupu traveled there to consult with noted orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews.  

With the emergence of David Hawthorne, many Seahawks fans are asking "what do we do when Lofa Tatupu comes back?". It's a tough question. When the Houston Texans hosted the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday, a special fan was in attendance to watch Texas native and Seahawks defensive end Cory Redding take the field. Redding honored his former high school coach and Humble resident Al Segura with the “Symetra Heroes in the Classroom” award.

Lofa Tatupu might not be out for the season. Seattle Seahawks coach Jim Mora said Monday that further tests on the three-time Pro Bowl linebacker's chest muscle indicated a partial tear rather than a complete one.  

Lofa Tatupu is the latest Seahawks star to go on the injured reserve list. Arizona Cardinals starting linebackers Gerald Hayes and Chike Okeafor were inactive for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Both had back injuries. Inside linebacker Hayes missed his second straight game, again replaced by Ali Highsmith. Bertrand Berry replaced Okeafor at outside linebacker.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh is missing practice Tuesday to attend the funeral of former Cincinnati Bengals teammate Chris Henry. Seattle coach Jim Mora said Monday that Houshmandzadeh was on his way to Louisiana to attend the service and would return Tuesday night. Mora says Houshmandzadeh "was almost like a big brother" to Henry.  

Seahawks long snapper Kevin Houser is hoping to be out of the hospital in time for Christmas Eve after doctors re-inflated his collapsed lung. Seattle coach Jim Mora said the 32-year-old veteran of 10 seasons was sitting up in his hospital room Monday and watching "Ren and Stimpy" cartoons with his wife and kids.  

The former TCU standout has ably replaced injured Lofa Tatupu, showing his instincts and abilities, but with a trio of high-price linebackers his future may be cloudy in Seattle.
