Alex Loves Angel: Sefton

By Alexandra Vanthournout on  From alexloves.com
For the past year-and-a-bit I’ve lived in Angel, Islington . I loved it before I moved here, but now I’m obsessed with the place. It’s full of amazing restaurants, bars, beautiful places, the canals and some of the best shops I’ve seen all over the world. The people are friendly and it’s a tight-knit community – to say I love where I live is a bit of an understatement. Being Belgian, a lot of my friends and family arrive on the Eurostar in King’s Cross, merely minutes away, but have never...Read Full Story

The British Love Them Some Hats

By Tatiana Guertin on
If there's one thing I know, it's that British people love hats. Big hats, small hats, hats stuck to the sides of their heads, tall hats, short hats, you get the picture. Their hat fashion is actually kind of awesome, although at times laughable. Still, it's a shame that the trend of hats at events hasn't caught on in the U.S. For British socialites, the hat wearing event of the year is definitely the Royal Ascot horse race, and it happens to be going on right now. Take a look at some of the...Read Full Story

First one of the season

By peachydoesfashion on  From peachydoesfashion.blogspot.com
Okay, so life has been pretty hectic for me this week, between doing uni work, doing actual work and trying to fit in what I enjoy doing around those two things. Somewhere along the line I have managed to make one of the first pieces of clothing in what I like to think of as my s/s line (it's not really, it's just a few summery pieces of clothing that I have managed to think up and would like to get around to making at some point). So, in celebration of my actually acheiving doing something...Read Full Story

Temperley London at London Fashion Week

By Alicia Diaz Dennis on
A model walks the catwalk at the Temperley Spring/Summer 2009 collection catwalk during London Fashion week on September 15, 2008 in London, England. (Photo by Dan Kitwood/Getty Images Europe) UK socialite Peaches Geldof may have appeared bored out of her mind at the Temperley London show, but that doesn't mean the collection was all bad.  There were actually quite a few stunning pieces, especially if you're a fan of studded black leather and white organza. What?  You don't see...Read Full Story

(Photo by Dan Kitwood/Getty Images Europe) London-based fashion designer Luella Bartley debuted another collection of fun, frilly skirts at this year's London Fashion Week.  Her Spring/Summer collection is decidedly British, replete with short jackets, gloves, and dainty bows.  Many of the models were draped in pearls. Particularly adorable were the...Read Full Story

The bespoke tailoring centre of the world Savile Row

By Eddie on  From blog.casinoman.net
Savile Row is a street in Mayfair, London that is basically synonymous with bespoke tailoring. The street, as well as surrounding areas, is riddled with tailor's shops. Like Little Italy in New York City, Savile Row has become a safe haven for many people with the same interest: tailoring. Tailors have been filling this area up since the early 19th century, and these artisans have worked extremely hard to build their well-established businesses. These businesses hold both quality and style as...Read Full Story

London Fashion Weekend Is Rubbish

By Clare Fowler on  From fashionfemme.co.uk
If you went this year, let me know if you disagree but I thought London Fashion Weekend was a MASSIVE waste of time. This money would have been better spent at one of London's many markets such as Greenwich or Spitalfields and you would have got a much better atmosphere. I actually had a better and more successful time wandering around Camden market after we escaped the 'lovie' fest.  £15 per person to look around some stalls and get some rubbish freebies, I won't be bothering next year...Read Full Story
