A Virginia man was among eight soldiers killed in an attack last weekend in Afghanistan. The Department of Defense said the eight victims included Spc. Stephan L. Mace, 21, of the Loudoun County community of Lovettsville. Mace and the seven others were killed Saturday in Kamdesh, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked their contingency outpost with small arms, rocket-propelled grenades and indirect fires.
