Death Watch - Louis Jourdan from "Octopussy"

With the death of screen legend Paul Newman last Saturday, I decided to place a death watch on the actor that played my second favorite Bond villain, Louis Jourdan.

Louis Jourdan played the sinister Prince Kamal Khan in the 1983 Bond film, "Octopussy". The movie itself is long, boring, and confusing, but Jourdan played the bad guy very well. His death scene at the end of the movie was probably one of the better Bond-Villain-Death scenes of the franchise.

At the end of "Octopussy", Khan and his henchman escape on a small prop plane. Bond jumps on the outside of the plane. Khan, who is piloting the plane, tries to shake Bond off with dangerous flips and dives. He eventually sends his henchman outside to kill Bond. Bond ends up killing the henchman and detaches the fuel line of the plane. This causes the plane to descend. Bond jumps off the plane as it briefly lands. The plane ends up going off a cliff and crashing into the side of a mountain, killing Khan.

Good news, as of September 30th, 2008 at 12:43PM, Louis Jourdan is still alive. The plane crash at the end of "Octopussy" didn't actually kill him.
