Ball State second baseman Kolbrin Vitek has been named to the 2010 Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America Team, Collegiate Baseball newspaper announced. Vitek, a junior, is the only player from the Mid-American Conference honored by a preseason All-America accolade from Louisville Slugger. Vitek batted .389 last season with 25 doubles and 67 RBIs.  

The Mets may have made their first big move of the winter, as several media outlets are reporting the baseball franchise has offered a $66 million contract to free-agent slugger Jason Bay.
