LUCY LAWLESS, star of TV series Xena: Warrior Princess, is stepping back into the sword-and-sandals genre.
She will return to historical fantasy for new TV series Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
New Zealand-born Lawless, 41, has signed on to the new action adventure series from Xena masterminds Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi. Raimi is also the director of the Evil Dead and Spider-Man films.

Kiwi actress Lucy Lawless had to hit the gym to prepare for a nude scene in upcoming sword-and-sandals series for television, ‘Spartacus: Blood and Sand’.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the 41-year-old actress spoke about her role as United States cable TV channel Starz unveiled the trailer for the gladiator series at a fan gathering in California.
