With hip-hop music blaring in the background, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took the field for the first time under Raheem Morris, who had just as much pep in his step as the players. "I need a little bounce," the NFL's youngest head coach said Tuesday after leading the squad through two of five workouts planned during a voluntary three-day minicamp to lay the groundwork for next season. The 32-year-old Morris replaced Jon Gruden, who was fired in January after the Bucs dropped their final four... Read Full Story

The San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers had two different agendas on Sunday: the 49ers wanted to work on a late-season win, while the Buccaneers wanted to rest some key players, mindful of the fact that they were in the playoffs. Both teams got what they wanted - the Bucs got to rest their players, and the 49ers held off a feisty Tampa Bay second unit. The end result was a hard-earned 21-19 win for the 49ers over the Buccaneers.
The first quarter was inconsequential as... Read Full Story
It might not take very long for the Bears to realize that Rex Grossman and/or Kyle Orton is not the answer at QB, and if that happens, or if it happens early enough, the team may turn to Tampa Bay for a possible QB alternative. The Bucs will be one of those teams that a lot of teams look at for QB’s, as they currently have no less than seven on the roster after the weekend draft, and plan on bringing five into camp from reports around the league.
So who would the Bears or another QB... Read Full Story

With a rash of injuries across the league early in training camp, it appears that the bug has caught up with the QB spot in Tampa Bay. It’s being reported that Bucs Pro Bowl QB Jeff Garcia was injured this morning in practice, and had to be carted off the field. The St.Petersburg Times is reporting that Garcia was hurt in a non-contact drill when he was rolling out and throwing. It’s being reported as a right calf injury.
Sources say that Garcia felt discomfort in his right leg, and... Read Full Story
After a lopsided win like this, you can almost see the vultures overhead, waiting to feast on last year’s AFC Champions and owners of an undefeated season. Maybe the Patriots’ luck has finally run out. Or maybe the Buccaneers are the team that the NFC has to watch out for.
Tampa Bay’s offense played almost flawlessly on their first possession with QB Brian Griese (9/10, 44 yards) completing his first eight throws to five different receivers, rushing three backs, and ending the 80-yard... Read Full Story

Tropical storm Fay may play tricks on tonight's game in Tampa. Just as fast as the play I expect on the field tonight, passing downpours will probably come and go all night long. The Jaguars this week prepared for tonight's game more like they would a regular season game. They would like to do many things better, but mainly on the offense. QB David Garrard has taken heat from the fans after not scoring last week, but the offensive line needs to give him time to throw the ball. The Jaguars... Read Full Story
