Luke Russert Told Off by Charlie Rangel

By olivia on
Luke Russert , an MSNBC reporter, was the object of a little outburst from Rep. Charlie Rangel of New York yesterday, when he asked him a loaded question. According to the Washington Post , Russert asked Rangel if he thought he'd lose his job over the recent controversy he was implicated in. A House ethics subcommittee found Rangel had violated ethics rules when he allegedly used his position to benefit his financial interests. Rangel's response? "Well, you're young, I guess you do need to...Read Full Story

Tim Russert is Still Dead; Luke Russert Needs To Eat a Donut

By GoingLikeSixty on  From goinglikesixty.com
Luke Russert is profiled in the Buffalo News. Not the kind of eastern elite media coverage the son of Dead Tim Russert must lust for. In the profile, the writer breathlessly (can one write breathlessly? I’m saying “yes”) outlines Russert’s killer scoop. The young reporter with the familiar Irish eyes wouldn’t let Rep. Anthony Weiner get away with it. “The picture that went over Twitter to Genette Cordova — is that you?,” he asked, politely. “Well, let’s keep in mind what happened here...Read Full Story

Charlie Rangel (D-NY), Epitome of the Most Ethical Congress Ever! Plus, Racism!

By sripengantin on  From newsrealblog.com
By most ethical Congress ever, I of course mean the total opposite. Much like the claims of the most transparent administration ever – in Obama-era Newspeak terms, you must just assume the opposite to be true. Charlie Rangel , after having been forced, kicking and screaming, to step down as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee in March, has now been charged with multiple ethics violations by a bipartisan House committee : The formation of subcommittee, which will consist of four...Read Full Story

Luke Russert Still Using Dead Dad to Get Ahead

By GoingLikeSixty on  From goinglikesixty.com
Francisco Franco and Tim Russert are still dead. 25% of the people in this picture are dead (as of this posting.) NBC News “correspondent” Luke Russert tweeted this photo last night: One of my favorite pictures of my dad is him talking to Elizabeth Edwards in NH in early ’08. May she be risen. Excuse me whilst I wipe away the tears from such a beautiful and eloquent tribute. You might like these too... Tim Russert is Still Dead; Young Luke Russert is MIA Unfriend or Defriend? Poor Luke Russert. When we heard the news that his first report for Dateline on NBC would be airing this past Sunday, we got excited for him. It’s not everyday that a Capitol Hill correspondent has a crossover hit and goes big-time with a Dateline feature. It was an examination of the case of Jon-Adrian “JJ” Velazquez, a man convicted of murder and set to spend his life in jail. After Velazquez sent repeated letters to Dateline proclaiming his...

Luke Russert hopes his first “Dateline” report, airing Sunday night on NBC, is the first of many. The correspondent, who is usually running around Capitol Hill, was able to spend several months reporting the story of Jon-Adrian Velazquez, who is serving 25 years-to-life in Sing Sing prison the 1998 murder of a retired NYPD police officer — a murder he says he did not commit. “Long form requires a completely different set of skills but it’s...

Luke Russert, NBC’s congressional correspondent, has been moonlighting at NBC News recently. He’s reporting his first “Dateline NBC” story that will air as an hour-long investigation two weeks from tonight. And while it’s Russert’s first “Dateline,” this is a story producers have been working on for a decade. Ten years ago, Dateline producer Dan Slepian started getting letters from an inmate named Jon-Adrian Velazquez. Valazquez is serving 25...
