John Salmons scored 27 points, Joakim Noah added a career-high 21 points and had 16 rebounds, and the Chicago Bulls beat the Charlotte Bobcats 93-90 on Saturday night for their third straight win. The Bulls had a 16-0 run in the third and fourth quarters that turned a nine-point deficit into a seven-point lead at 77-70. They hung on despite some shaky foul shooting, with Charlotte's Flip Murray missing two 3-pointers in the closing seconds. Boris Diaw led Charlotte with 20 points. With Chicago up 92-87 with a minute left, the Bulls' Luol Deng missed two free throws, and the Bobcats' Tyson Chandler converted ... Read Full Story

It’s too easy to start rolling out predictions and watch lists two weeks into the season. Unlike football, where two weeks means you’ve only played two games, two weeks of the NBA translates to almost 10 games, a good enough sample for most to gauge how a guy is going to play for the next 7-8 months. That’s why Steve Nash, Carmelo and Kobe are already running an MVP race, Brandon Jennings is running away with R.O.Y., and Ron Artest and LeBron are vying for Defensive Player of the Year. The hopes were high last year, especially after the big signing of Ben Wallace. Outsiders were picking the Bulls to go far in the playoffs, and deep down, I was too. However when I would take off my Red and White colored glasses, I could see a team that was missing a scoring presence on the inside. Would Tyrus Thomas step up? Could PJ Brown offer enough of a presence? Those were my thoughts going into last year. I knew they could get far in the East, but if they could somehow make it to the Finals, the West would probably destroy them. Well, ... Read Full Story

Jim Broylan may not be a genius, but NBA fans in Chicago could be forgiven if they think he’s one. Why you ask? Well Broylan the interim coach of the Chicago Bulls is now 2-0, and seemed to solve all the team’s woes with one simple move. Broylan asked Ben Gordon to go from being in the starting lineup to coming into the game from the bench. With just that one move the Chicago Bulls went from a moribund team to a club that resembles the playoff team from last Spring. Gordon came off the bench Sunday against the New York Knicks, and paid ... Read Full Story
Ben Gordon’s 19 points were not enough to stop the Detroit Pistons suffering a 110-103 defeat at the hands of last year’s Eastern Conference champions the Orlando Magic.

John Jackson: After fighting for an offensive rebound, scoring inside and drawing a foul against a bigger player in the fourth quarter of the Bulls' dramatic comeback victory Tuesday night, Luol Deng took a couple of steps and let out a scream that would have registered high marks on the noise meters shown on the United Center scoreboard.

Milwaukee can’t hold 18-point lead CHICAGO (AP) — Luol Deng and the Chicago Bulls envisioned nights like this. If he keeps it up, he just might become a star they thought he would be.

The end-of-game lineup against Miami didn't produce a win, so it's easy to second guess. Coach Vinny Del Negro used a smaller group featuring Derrick Rose, Kirk Hinrich, John Salmons, Luol Deng and Joakim Noah. Brad Miller replaced Noah for a few offensive possessions late in the game. There was plenty of logic in that lineup. Hinrich is the Bulls' best option to defend Dwyane Wade, while Deng and Salmons were both shooting the ball well. read...

That he's not the soft slacker some believe him to be after his injury last year Rick Morrissey: It would be hard to find many people who are looking forward to the Bulls' opener Thursday night more than Luol Deng. Deng was two things last year: much maligned and very much sidelined, the former having everything to do with the latter. "We need him," Derrick Rose said.
