The Madden Hostile Take Over Part 2

Let me start by saying I love Madden video games. But their continuing cornering of the market it making me sick. I never played NFL 2k that was out some years ago that was a rising rival that I heard was actually better than Madden. Any readers: input here would be appreciated. EA was heard to be so scared by this new up start that they purchased exclusive rights for the NFL through 2010. Now the NFL Electronic Arts have announced an extension to EA sorts rights to the football league and it's players' associated. This now means that EA's Madden series will be the only football product(Including teams, player likeness, official stadiaums, ect.) through the 2012-2013 NFL season. Damn they are greedy! I guess there must be some truth to that NFL 2k thing, when I think about this. Althrough it may seem that te previous deal signed 2010 adequately sealed up the NFL license and pushed out competitors, the timing of this could be significant. if one can presumes that the next round of game consoles come out around 2010 according to a five year cycle ( the Xbox 360 came out in 2005), then it was smart to lock up the exclusive rights to the league beyond what might be the luanch period of the upcoming consoles. even if they don't renew the new contract it gives the a head start on making football games for the new consoles. Ths only thing that worries me about this whole ordeal is sense EA has no further football competition will they slack on there games? It's no pressure to out do the competition, becuase their is none. tney still must satisfy there fans but since there will not be any othe footgames to play we will be force to take what they give us. I don't like that one bit. It sounds Bill Gate'ish if you ask me. Let me end this by saying to those who think Madden (EA)can do no wrong, think about this. If Madden was truly the holy grail of football why would they need to buy up the NFL rights if the were really confident in making the best football games? Hmmmm... And don't say someone else would have brought it either, EA has a ton more capital than any other sports making franchise. You can be sure buying the NFL rights was a crazy amount of money. ...
