Mallika cast in Obama film

Mallika Sherwat, who’s apparently hobnobbing with the Hollywood crowd, is all set to star in a film based on the US President Barack Obama’s political campaign.
The film by Doug McHenry is a romantic, political comedy titled Love, Barack. The film tracks the romance between a Democratic campaign volunteer and her Republican counterpart in the run-up to last year’s US Presidential election. The principal photography for the film will kick off in Los Angeles on January 13.
The movie will be produced by Govind Menon and William Keenan’s US-India consultancy and production company Nuclear Mango. The same producers oversaw the post production of Jennifer Lynch’s Hisss starring Mallika.
Mallika’s character (as reported earlier by The Mumbai Age) Aretha Gupta is based on Kamala Harris, the attorney general of San Francisco.
The actress is now working hard to acquire a thick American accent for her role in the film, which has an all-American cast. Mallika has already worked on other international projects including Jackie Chan’s Myth.(DC)
