John Smoltz was back in the Atlanta Braves' clubhouse Monday, visiting his old team before heading off for a round of golf with Tiger Woods. Slumping second baseman Kelly Johnson was held out of the Atlanta Braves' starting lineup for the second straight day. Braves manager Bobby Cox gave Omar Infante his second straight start for Johnson, who is hitting .203, in Wednesday night's game against St. Louis. Legendary baseball announcer Skip Caray has died. He was 68 years old. Caray was the voice of the Atlanta braves for 33 years and the son of another baseball broadcasting legend, Harry Caray.
Skip Caray died in his sleep at home on Sunday, the team said.
"We've all lost a very good friend," Braves manager Bobby Cox said. "For me, he was a good buddy — at the park and away from the park. We always had a lot of great laughs. He will be very sorely missed."
