Barry Bonds Is Going To The Tampa Bay Devil Rays?

bondstits.jpg Barry Bonds' services are comparable to a Mexican dentist: the practice may be shady, but the price just may be good enough to take. Of course, no offense to Mexican denists. Barry Bonds holds the record for most homeruns in the history of the MLB, but it's not enough to negate his viability as a bullseye for controversy. It's why most organizations aren't keen to ransack their surplus of dough to pick up a steroid-laced, injury-prone maverick. So, where's he going to turn up next year if he doesn't end up in Japan?
The Tampa Bay Rays have had internal discussions about the prospect of pursuing Barry Bonds. Manager Joe Maddon said Monday he knew "little" about what was going on, but acknowledged some thought has been given to the career home-run leader. "A minor discussion was thrown out there a little bit, and it's really not gone any further than that," Maddon said after Monday's workout at the team's spring training facility. "That's all it is right now."
He can't be banished from the bigs because what else are we going to talk about in between innings, Pedro Martinez's cockfighting? No way. We need at least one more year of Barry Bonds steroid nonsense so then Roger Clemens can take the baton, steal the show and Barry's steroid issue will become "vintage." Go Devil Rays, Go!
