Mandira Bedi is an Indian telivision actress who shot to fame first as television star in the soap Shanti and then as a television presenter during the 2003 Cricket World Cup and also in 2007 Cricket World Cup. Although she doesn't quite contribute to the cricket talk shows in sense of knowledge but she does contribute to the X-factor leading to increased TRP's of the show. Bedi created a stirr in Bangladesh over her unwarranted criticism of the Bangladeshi Cricket Team following their defeat of India in the World Cup 2007 group stages. She also reportedly loves wearing off-shoulder tops.
She was born and brought up in Bombay, and is married to an Indian movie director Raj Kaushal and lives in Bandra, Mumbai. She received national acclaim through her debut television serial Shanti.
She started her career with 'DDLJ', the longest running film in the history of Indian film and re-invented herself as host of the Cricket World Cup and soared in popularity to become a household name. Mandira Bedi is now going regional, by acting in a Telugu film and that too as a heroine. The film is titled 'John Appa Rao 40+' and it portrays Mandira as a career oriented woman. The film will go to the floors on the 20th of July with songs shooting abroad.
