New Detroit Mayor Dave Bing says he won't move into the official mayoral residence — the Manoogian Mansion. Bing took office Monday and says he wants to find a way to make money from the 15-room luxury house on the Detroit River. He didn't say if he wants to sell the house or rent it. Bing won a May 5 special election against Ken Cockrel Jr., the city council president who became mayor after convicted ex-Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick resigned in September. I guess the ex-Mayor of Detroit isn’t planning on moving to his Tallahassee Florida home any time soon (even after he finishes serving his time in jail). The 4 bedroom, 3 bath home that the Kilpatrick’s purchased in June of 2007 for $430,000 is currently on the market for $399,900 with Gary Bartlett , a former television news anchor turned Realtor. A far cry from his meals he once enjoyed at The Detroit Club, where he reportedly skipped out on a $73.16 lunch tab and told Club officials, “Charge it to the City.” VIDEO According to BET ... By: Lynn Green Looks like Kwame Kilpatrick has been given a deadline to get his disgraced behind out of office in Detroit. He has until the 18th of September, ‘08 to vacate the infamous Manoogian Mansion and to stop tormenting and haunting the city of Detroit. He has abused that city. If I ever get the energy to deal with it, I’ll talk about the underseeded rumors surrounding him, his wife and the death of a stripper who alledgedly had performed for him at the Manoogian Mansion. This man is the scum of the earth. I dedicate THIS SONG to this nutcase. Hat tip ... Read Full Story
