Mara Escobar

Police have charged Mara Escobar, 35, with beating and raping her 16-year-old niece after the girl opened up to authorities about abuses in the home. Police say the 16-year-old was forced to do most of the housework and live in a sparse, bare bedroom while Escobar's two daughters had bedrooms with televisions, DVDs and videogames.
