Rams QB Marc Bulger took a shot from Darnell Dockett on the Rams last gasp drive with no timeouts and a minute remaining. The next few plays Bulger did not look like he had everything together and the game was over. Well, it turns out Bulger took a shot to the head on that sack and he is undergoing tests for a concussion, Pro Football Talk is reporting. Read Full Story

The St. Louis Rams got good news on wide receiver Donnie Avery, who underwent an MRI exam on his hip that revealed a bruise. They can't afford to lose any more players at a position that's been thin since training camp. Avery's injury early in Sunday's 23-20 overtime loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars deprived the winless Rams (0-6) of their only player able to stretch the field. Without him, the running game got shut down, especially in the second half, and the untested wide receivers the Rams had left weren't able to make enough plays. The Jaguars eventually wore down the Rams' defense, which ... Read Full Story
NEW YORK (Reuters) - St. Louis Rams linebacker David Vobora has been suspended for four games after testing positive for a banned substance. The NFL said Vobora had violated the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances, but provided no other details in a statement on Tuesday. Vobora's agent Marc Lillibridge said on NFL.com that his client had failed a doping test after taking a supplement tainted with the banned substance. Lillibridge said Vobora was planning to sue the company that made the supplement and that a toxicology report showed the product had been tainted. It was unclear what the substance was and when Vobora failed ... Read Full Story

Video games are not among Marc Bulger's passions. He's not much of a typist, either, using what he refers to as the "pointer finger" whenever he must use a keyboard. But if you're the St. Louis Rams' quarterback, a broken pinkie is fairly serious stuff. Bulger missed the final three preseason games and took his first direct center snaps only four days before the opener, making the problematic digit a red flag for a franchise trying to move past a two-year stretch so dismal they landed the second overall pick both years. The Rams, 5-27 in 2007-08, have enough to worry about under new ... Read Full Story

Published and broadcast reports say radio personality Rush Limbaugh and St. Louis Blues owner Dave Checketts are joining together in a bid to purchase the St. Louis Rams. KMOX Radio and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch report that the Checketts group has made a bid on the Rams and would keep the team in St. Louis. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello declined comment to The Associated Press on Tuesday, and the Rams said in a statement that a "strategic review" continues. In a statement to KMOX, Limbaugh confirms the bid but would not name additional partners. Georgia Frontiere moved the Rams from Los Angeles to St. ... Read Full Story

ST. LOUIS — In just one half of football, Kurt Warner did enough to beat his old team. After leading the Arizona Cardinals to a 21-3 halftime lead, Warner left with a reported head injury. While backup Matt Leinart was ineffective for the Cardinals, Warner's 2003 replacement in St. Louis, Marc Bulger, led the Rams on a valiant comeback that came up short. Bulger threw for 215 yards, Steven Jackson ran for 116 and a score, but Arizona held on...

Brandon Gibson was lost in the shuffle in Philadelphia, which is loaded with young, talented wide receivers. The rookie has been quite the pick-me-up with the St. Louis Rams, a team desperate for pass catchers all year. So desperate that Gibson was Marc Bulger's primary target last week, making his first seven career receptions for 93 yards.
