The St. Louis Rams got good news on wide receiver Donnie Avery, who underwent an MRI exam on his hip that revealed a bruise. They can't afford to lose any more players at a position that's been thin since training camp. Avery's injury early in Sunday's 23-20 overtime loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars deprived the winless Rams (0-6) of their only player able to stretch the field. NEW YORK (Reuters) - St. Louis Rams linebacker David Vobora has been suspended for four games after testing positive for a banned substance. The NFL said Vobora had violated the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances, but provided no other details in a statement on Tuesday. Vobora's agent Marc Lillibridge said on NFL.com that his client had failed a doping test after taking a supplement tainted with the banned substance. Lillibridge said Vobora was planning to sue the company that made the supplement and that a toxicology report showed the product had been tainted. Published and broadcast reports say radio personality Rush Limbaugh and St. Louis Blues owner Dave Checketts are joining together in a bid to purchase the St. Louis Rams. KMOX Radio and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch report that the Checketts group has made a bid on the Rams and would keep the team in St. Louis. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello declined comment to The Associated Press on Tuesday, and the Rams said in a statement that a "strategic review" continues.
