Marcel Kittel won Stage 1 of the 100th Tour de France.
Marcel Kittel won the first stage of the 2013 Tour de France.  Alexander Kristoff, Danny Van Poppel, and David Millar all gave Kittel a solid race in the final sprint, but the young German held them off.

Unfortunately for Kittel, pretty much everyone in the field will end up with the exact same time for stage 1, at least as far as the general classification is concerned.  There were several crashes and some confusion about the finish line.

So... expect to see someone new wearing the prized yellow jersey soon.  Tomorrow kicks off Stage 2 which will include the first big climb.

Below are the top 10 riders in the general classification after stage 1 of the 2013 Tour de France.
