Interview With Marcia Cross| Marcia Cross and Chinet Help Feed America

Have U Heard had the pleasure of speaking with Marcia Cross about her work with Chinet to support Feeding America.  We also spoke with her about her children, her career and what she is grateful for in her life.

This holiday season, actress Marcia Cross—who plays Bree Van de Kamp on ABC’s Desperate Housewives—is teaming up with the Chinet® brand to serve 700,000 meals to Americans in need through the Grateful Platefuls program.

Here is the interview questions and Marcia’s answers:

Q: Your children are very young but is it important for you to try and set an example for them about giving back?? 

Marcia:  In this very strange interim of wanting the world to seem like this perfect lovely place because they’re 2 1/2 to then introducing them to the idea that other people have less.  I think it’s going to start soon around the holidays.  The way I try and do it is to see things around the house and say ”Why don’t we give this to so and so” and I will say someone else’s child.  I think it is working because the children have started to say it back to me.

Q: What kind of things are the girls into now??

Marcia:  They started pre-school so new songs, new kids.   Savanah still wearing only navy blues so that’s a challenge and Eden likes to be naked so that’s another challenge.  They’re fabulous and really funny.

Q:  What kind of things do the girls do to make you laugh??

Marcia:  My girls are pretty funny.  They’re little jokesters, they make twists on words already, they make songs, they make up lyrics. 

Q: Do you have plans to make an appearance on Melrose Place?? 

Marcia:  I have a very busy life.  I don’t know what I’d do on Melrose Place because I’ve already done every crazy thing imaginable as the wacked out Kimberly.  I don’t have any plans to go on Melrose Place.  I don’t have a minute in my day left.  If they want to float me on a raft and I could take a nap….(laughing)

 Q:   Are there any similarities between Bree and Marcia Cross?

Marcia:  I wish there were more.  Bree is so organized.  At the moment with the situation that Bree is in – we have less in common than more.

Q:  Do the paparrazzi drive you crazy?

Marcia:  Sometimes the paparrazzi do drive me crazy.   Right now my kids are too young to notice.  When that day comes I’ll get a lot more excited about it.    On the flip side of that they show up and I talk about this wonderful program with Feeding America.   

Q:  What’s next for Marcia Cross?

Marcia:  Parks, naptime, doing my show – which I still love.  That is a very full plate for me and I am grateful to have it. 

Q: What are you grateful for??

Marcia:  (a bit teary eyed) I am grateful that I have the family I have always dreamed about.  I am grateful for the job that I have – I get to do what I love.  I am grateful that I get the opportunity to be a spokesperson for the things that I feel are important.  I am grateful for the amazing friends that I have and all the love in my life.  I am grateful to live in a country of such great abundance.
