CANCUN, Mexico, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- John Wall hit two free throws to send the game into overtime Wednesday and he finished with 26 points to lead No. 5 Kentucky past Stanford 73-65. The Wildcats fought off the upset bid to capture the Cancun Challenge. Patrick Patterson added 12 points and 11 rebounds in helping the Wildcats improve to 6-0. Kentucky held Stanford without a field goal in the overtime session. Stanford (3-3) got 23 points and 13 rebounds from Landry Fields. NEW YORK, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Jerome Dyson and Kemba Walker both scored 20 points Wednesday and No. 13 Connecticut coasted to an 81-55 triumph over LSU. The victory came in the semifinals of the NIT Season Tip-Off Tournament at Madison Square Garden. The Huskies, unbeaten in their four games this season, scored 21 fast-break points and produced an eight-point run in the first half en route to a 45-29 advantage at intermission. LAWRENCE, Kan., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Marcus Morris and Xavier Henry both scored 19 points Wednesday in sending No. 1 Kansas storming to an 89-59 crushing of Oakland. The Jayhawks ran the nation's longest active home-court winning streak to 44 games. Kansas improved to 4-0 this season with Tyrel Reed contributing 11 points off the bench. Oakland (2-3), which had won its previous two games, got 20 points from Keith Benson. Kansas took a 19-9 lead midway through the first half and held a 37-22 advantage at the break. KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- The third-ranked Texas Longhorns got 20 points from Damion James and downed Pittsburgh 78-62 to win the CBE Classic title in Kansas City, Mo. James also had nine rebounds and J'Covan Brown scored 12 for Texas (4-0), which won the tournament in 2005. The Longhorns had three other players in double figures despite losing starting guard Varez Ward, who went down with an injured right knee during warm ups and had to be wheeled off the court on a stretcher. CHAMPAIGN, Ill., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Demetri McCamey's game-high 21 points led 20th-ranked Illinois to a 78-64 win over Wofford Tuesday in the Las Vegas Invitational. Mike Davis had 16 points and 11 rebounds and D.J. Richardson tallied 15 for Illinois (4-0). Junior Salters led Wofford (2-3) with 15 points scored on 5-of-11 shots from 3-point range. Noah Dahlman and Corey Godzinski were also in double figures, although the Terriers shot just 39.3 percent from the field compared with Illinois' 57.1 percent.
