Margot Kidder returns to horror with Zombie's H2

The news this evening is that Margot Kidder of "Superman," "Black Christmas" and "Amityville" fame is returning to her horror roots with Rob Zombies sequel to 2007's slasher HALLOWEEN.

The sequel, rumoured to be titled H2: The Devil Walks Among Us - since the title was mistakenly posted (then removed) from Zombie's blog - is due for release this August and is currently shooting in Georgia.

Margot Kidder is best known nowadays at the troublesome reporter "Louis Lane" in 1978's Superman and it's sequels, but Kidder had already begun to make something of a name for herself as a bit of a "scream queen" long before she romanced the famous Kryptonian.

It was with turns in films such as Brian de Palma's 1973 film "Sisters" and the 1974 holiday-horror "Black Christmas" that Kidder first took a turn in horror. But even after Superman, Kidder was soon back into the genre with 1979's controversial picture "The Amityville Horror."

According to reports, Kidder will play Laurie Strode's therapist, Barbara Collier in the film. And I'd hazard a guess that she'll also be meeting a very sticky end at the hands of Michael Myers, Lauries murderous brother (characters in those sorts of professions normally do in horror movies).

As for that other piece of news, the title - H2: The Devil Walks Among Us - was posted by Rob Zombie himself when announcing news of Kidder's casting. The new title however, was promptly removed leading fans to speculate it was leaked a little prematurely.

Either way, I'd say it's too late to be changing things now, so I guess we'll be sticking with H2: THE DEVIL WALKS AMONG US.
