Marion Blakey is Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration. According to whitehouse.gov: Most recently, Marion Blakey served as Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board. Previously, she was the principal of Blakey and Associates, a public affairs consulting firm specializing in transportation issues and traffic safety. From 1992 to 1993, she served as the Administrator of the Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. She has also held positions in the Department of Commerce, the Department of Education, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the White House. Marion is a graduate of Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia.

Failed FAA COO "Hank" Krakowski

A major computer glitch in Federal Aviation Administration computers in Atlanta and Salt Lake City Thursday morning forced cancellations and caused delays at airports across the country. A spokeswoman for Philadelphia International Airport said there were delays of a little over two hours in Philadelphia, but weather was a major factor.

Airports nationwide including Tampa International will continue to experience flight delays today although the Federal Aviation Administration corrected a technical problem that began at one of two national centers that handle flight plans. The failure was attributed to a software configuration problem at an FAA telecommunications center in Salt Lake City that lasted from 5 to 9 a.m.
