Blood Ties follows a familiar conceit: two brothers on opposite sides of the law. But what sets the film apart is the cast. On the badge-wearing side of things is Billy Crudup, who is skeptical of big bro's (Clive Owen) post-prison aspirations. Perhaps because, despite being a dealer and a pimp, Owen's character is still the family favorite. Caught in the mix of things are three gorgeous yet complicated women played by Zoe Saldana, Mila Kunis, and Marion Cotillard.
The film made one of the biggest splashes at this year's Cannes Film Festival and for good reason. Blood Ties marks acclaimed French director Guillaume Canet (Tell No One) first foray into an English-language project, which happens to be the remake of the 2008 French thriller Les liens du sang. Noah Emmerich, Matthias Schoenaerts, Lili Taylor, and James Caan co-star.
