Known as MMM or Triple M in her home state of Pennsylvania, she's currently a professor for the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania. Marjorie is also the chairperson and founder of the Women’s Campaign International, an advocacy group that provides grassroots political training to women throughout the world.
As a former news hound, Marjorie holds 5 Emmys for her work with NBC television stations in New York and Washington, DC. She was also a correspondent for the
Today show and
Real Life with Jane Pauley. Marjorie married
Ed Mezvinsky during his second term in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1975.
Marjorie entered politics for herself, and was elected to congress in 1992. While there, she cast the deciding vote in passing Bill Clinton's controversial 1993 budget. She also published her book,
A Woman's Place, detailing what she and 23 other women voted into congress in 1992 found when they got there.
