Former Newsweek editor Mark Whitaker has been named to replace the late Tim Russert in hosting NBC's "Meet the Press." Whitaker will be taking over as Washington Bureau Chief for the network as well. He is currently Senior Vice President of NBC News. Before joining NBC, he was the first African American to lead a national newsmagazine. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College in 1979.
