The Memphis Grizzlies signed point guard Jamaal Tinsley, who hasn't played in the National Basketball Association in more than a year. Tinsley was bought out by the Indiana Pacers in July, but hasn't played since midway through the 2007-08 season. He remained under contract with Indiana last season, but the team told him to stay away. In seven seasons with the Pacers, Tinsley averaged 10.4 points and seven assists. NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Memphis Grizzlies, who are short a player with Allen Iverson taking personal leave, have signed free agent guard Jamaal Tinsley, the NBA team said on Saturday. Tinsley, 31, who averaged a career-high 8.4 assists in 39 games with the Indiana Pacers in 2007-08, his last season in the NBA before he was released by the team in July. The Indiana Pacers have signed free agent guard Earl Watson to a multiyear contract. Terms of the deal were not released Tuesday. The 6-foot-1 veteran was waived earlier this month by Oklahoma City. He also has played with Seattle, Memphis and Denver in eight NBA seasons. Watson adds depth to an Indiana team that has already lost one guard, Jarrett Jack, in free agency and is likely to lose another, Marquis Daniels, this offseason. Former Indiana Pacers guard Marquis Daniels will play for the Boston Celtics next season. Agent Glenn Schwartzman said on Saturday that his client has committed to go to Boston as a free agent or as part of a sign-and-trade deal with Indiana. Schwartzman said both teams would prefer that the sign-and-trade works out, but the Celtics will use the biannual exception to sign Daniels if trade talks fizzle.
