Don’t be alarmed if water you get from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission looks a little cloudy or milky white beginning today.
Officials with the utility say the phenomenon — which may be noticeable over the next two months to many of their 1.7 million customers in San Mateo, northern Santa Clara and southern Alameda counties —is perfectly harmless.

Salt Lake County authorities say two sheriff's deputies suffered scratches while being dragged up to 75 yards by a vehicle that left a traffic stop. The sheriff's office says two deputies approached a suspicious vehicle early Monday, one on each side. Salt Lake County says it's one of 20 counties nationwide to win Triple A ratings for taxpayer-backed bonds. The high marks from Fitch Ratings, Moody's Investor Service and Standard and Poor's mean lower interest rates. TAYLORSVILLE — A Millcreek man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly firing multiple rounds at another man who was struck in the leg.
