MARY GAMARRA has become one of the most popular and loved personalities in Spanish-language television.  She currently appears in Telemundo's high-rated news magazine show "Al Rojo Vivo".  During this new phase of her career, Mary has had the opportunity to interview prominent personalities in the world of politics, science, fashion and entertainment.  Additionally, Mary often substitute anchors across news and sports programs at the network.  Fully-bilingual, Mary co-hosted NBC Sports' Latin On Ice professional ice-skating special on NBC last year.
 
Prior to joining Al Rojo Vivo, Maryworked as the Co-Host and Weather Anchor of Telemundo's weekday, morning, network news and information program, Cada Dia.
 
Before joining the Network in 2006, Mary was as a morning news and weather anchor at KXTX-39, Telemundo's O&O in Dallas, TX.  She also contributed as a side-line reporter for local coverage of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys
 
In 2001, as a producer, she helped to launch the morning newscast at WNJU-47, Telemundo's O&O in New York City, and was later promoted to produce the weeknight, 11pm newscast where she managed and led a news staff of anchors, reporters, writers, desk assignment editors and production engineers.  In the midst of a busy schedule she also collaborated with the political news magazine show "De Frente" by writing, reporting and producing segments.
 
In 1999, Mary joined WXTV-41, Univision's O&O in New York City, as an News Writer for the morning newscast, Al Despertar.
 
Mary began her broadcast journalism career at CNN En Español's NY bureau as an intern  and field producer where she coordinated, produced and conducted interviews for the network.
 
A native of Trujillo, Peru, Mary received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College in Media Studies with an emphasis in Journalism and Spanish Literature. She also studied Broadcast Meteorology in Mississippi State University.  She volunteers at numerous charitable projects including Big Brothers, Big Sisters and the Women of Tomorrow.
 
Mary currently resides in New York  with her husband.
