By now we've all seen how "Battlestar Galactica" ends -- what did you think? Like, love or loathe? Personally, I found the two hours to be a triumph as far as series' finales go. Sure, there were about 8 million endings, but with so many loose threads to be tied up, what could they do beyond killing everyone and calling it a day? And while I am still unclear on exactly what Starbuck was -- angel? -- the resolution for President Roslin was crystal clear, and beautiful. After checking out the super-sized saga, I chatted with star Mary McDonnell, who was also reeling from ... Read Full Story

Fine, taut episode of The Closer last night, with Mary McDonnell, fresh from her role as the late President Laura Roslin on Battlestar Galactica, right in the face of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (Kyra Sedgwick), and the Deputy Chief of course giving it back as good or better than she gets. The confrontation is about Capt. Sharon Raydor's (Mary McDonnell) investigation of Sgt. David Gabriel's shooting of an unarmed man. We the viewers saw the flash of fire that Gabriel was responding to, so we know he's telling the truth, but Raydor did not and does not. Brenda Leigh knows Gabriel is telling ... Read Full Story

It's hard to let an episode of Battlestar Galactica go by without saying anything, especially as the series only has a handful of episodes before it sails off among the stars (sadly, with no resurrection ship anywhere in sight). While I wasn't going to write about this past week's episode of Battlestar Galactica ("A Disquiet Follows My Soul"), which found the ragtag Colonial Fleet dealing with a number of internal fractures, from Laura Roslin deciding to stop treatment for her cancer, Gaeta stirring dissent among the shell-shocked crew of the Galactica, and Tom Zarek making a power grab with Roslin indisposed. While this episode--written ... Read Full Story

As you may have heard earlier today, Battlestar Galactica's President Laura Roslin, also known as the amazing Ms. Mary McDonnell, has been in talks to join Grey's Anatomy for a multi-episode arc later this season . Well, inside sources have now exclusively confirmed to me that McDonnell's deal is indeed done, and the Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actress will be appearing on the medical rom-com as a doctor . Why she ends up at Seattle Grace and who she'll be working with is still, however, a mystery. Any guesses? Grey's will, of course, return for its fifth season this Thursday with a two-hour ... 23 Jan Posted by admin in Mary Mcdonnell Come on she is the leader of the free people. Well kind of the free people. Her character has been powerful from the start of the show and she has just maintained her presence throughout. As far as being an actress at one point and time she was definantly a sex symbol. I have watched plenty of clips with her showing off the overall sexiness. Of course all this was back when she was much younger, yet she is still has a hotness about her. Check her out showing those toes off. Mary Mcdonnell Click for ... Read Full Story

It’s the battle of the formidable broads on "The Closer", as Brenda Leigh Johnson goes up against President Roslin Mary McDonnell. I honestly don't know which woman scares -- or thrills -- me more. Gabriel and Taylor meet for a drink when shots ring out outside the bar. Gabriel springs into action. He sees a victim down, shot three times, and spots a fleeing figure. Gabriel commands him to stop, but instead two more shots ring out. Gabriel...

Filed under: Other Drama Shows, Episode Reviews, Reality-Free(S05E03) If you were Kyra Sedgwick and you were asked to choose an episode of The Closer for Emmy consideration, this would be a strong candidate. For one thing, Ms. Sedgwick was given a really strong adversary, another likely Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series, Battlestar Galactica's Mary McDonnell. As Captain Sharon Raydor, Force Investigation Division, McDonnell made an...
