Matt Holliday Error Video Shows Outfielder Attempting to Catch With His Junk

Up until last night, Matt Holliday was rumored to be looking at a contract of around $20 million per year starting next year. Then he attempted to catch a soft line drive with his testicles. Now some are already comparing it to the infamous Bill Buckner moment, in which a Boston Red Sox infielder let a soft hit dribble between his legs during the World Series.

This time around, it was the Cardinals trying to finish up the game in the ninth against the Dodgers, when Holliday went to field a line drive for the third out. Instead, Holliday dropped the ball, the Dodgers won, and Cardinals fans everywhere are in disbelief.

Adding insult to injury, some players are attmpting to blame it on the white towels swung by fans at the Dodgers stadium. Pitcher Adam Wainwright told reporters after the game, "He lost the ball in … 50,000 white towels shaking in front of his face. It doesn’t really seem fair that an opposing team should be allowed to shake white towels when there’s a white baseball flying through the air. Dodger blue towels, how ’bout that?”
