When director Matthew Vaughn agreed to direct an adaptation of Mark Millar's Kick-Ass comic book, he decided that he would only do it on his own terms and began looking around for investors to help him finance the $50-million movie. With the funds secured from Hollywood heavyweights, such as Brad Pitt, Vaughn's next challenge was finding a distributor.

Those sneaky French! Last week, Lionsgate debuted the teaser trailer for Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass. Because of an accidental early leak, that teaser kind of got lost in the mix with the Clash of the Titans trailer (which was also released the same day). I'm a big fan of commentary tracks and would likely listen to a couple a day if my schedule permitted it. That's even despite the almost constant disappointment they present when the participants simply resort to describing the action on screen or puffing things up with a bunch of 'amusing' production anecdotes. Not every track can be Lars von Trier or Steven Soderbergh debating with their collaborators, I suppose.

Wow, did not expect to see this until Friday! The first teaser trailer for Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass, his beautifully violent adaptation of Mark Millar's comic series, has arrived online via the official website. Holy f*ckin' hell this looks so awesome. I've been a fan of the comic series since it hit and I've been excited for this movie since it was first announced. I knew that Vaughn would deliver! I think this may revive Nic Cage's career...
