Max Clifford 'accepts £1 mln to drop phone-hacking case'

Publicist Max Clifford accepted more than £1 million from the News of the World in return for ending legal action over a phone-hacking scandal, a newspaper reported on Wednesday. The celebrity PR agent has agreed to drop his case against the tabloid for tapping into his voicemail messages, the Guardian said. According to the paper, the settlement will not be described as "damages", which means the News of the World does not have to admit any wrongdoing.
