Maximiliano Rubén “Maxi” Rodríguez (born January 2, 1981 in Rosario, Santa Fe) is an Argentine footballer. He is commonly used as a winger or midfielder, and he currently captains Atlético Madrid. He holds dual citizenship: Argentine and Italian.
He came through the youth set-up at Newell’s Old Boys in the Argentine Football League, and played for the club for three seasons before moving to Spain.
