The Knox County Register of Deeds reports 117 closed transactions in the past week. That about 30 less than average. Gubernatorial Straw Votes Greeted Skeptically

Two recent circumstances — one on the Republican side, one on the Democratic side — have crystallized skepticism concerning the value of straw votes, the kind usually taken at cattle-call receptions for candidates in this or that locality. November 18, 2009 – Mayor Haslam participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday to open the new Knoxville Comprehensive Breast Center (KCBC) – one of the largest independent breast center facilities in the United States. November 19, 2009 – City of Knoxville offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 27th and 28th in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Waste Connections, the city’s household garbage collector, will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. They will pick up Thursday’s garbage on Friday and Friday’s garbage on Saturday.
