It’s the week before Thanksgiving, lets see if the Knoxville area real estate market has any real estate thanks to give.
The Knox County Register of Deeds reports 117 closed transactions in the past week. That about 30 less than average. However the Knoxville Area Association of Realtor’s October sales figures show a 14.5% in October 2009 versus October 2008, go figure.

November 19, 2009 – City of Knoxville offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 27th and 28th in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday.
Waste Connections, the city’s household garbage collector, will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. They will pick up Thursday’s garbage on Friday and Friday’s garbage on Saturday.
The downtown trash collection will not run on Thanksgiving day and will pick up garbage on Friday at their regular schedule.

The week just past showed continuing sales of real estate in Knox County with the prices ranges from $50,000 to $200,000 continuing to dominate with 63% of the total.
Overall there were 115 real estate transfers in the past week including two sales in the “More than $1 million” dollar range with one closing at $2,900,500 and a second at $1,174,210.
