Corpus Christi Fight Club Busted In Texas State School For Mentally Disabled

Warrants have been issued for six employees of a state school for the mentally disabled in Corpus Christi, Texas for organizing after-hours fights between mental patients and then videotaping them creating movies that land somewhere between Fight Club and One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. The warrants were issued for Jesse Salazar, 25; Guadalupe Delarosa, 21; Vince Johnson, 22; Dangelo Riley, 22; Timothy Dixon, 30; and Stephanie Garza, 21. Garza, is the only one not being charged with injury to a disabled person, a third-degree felony. “She stood by while the others did it,” Corpus Christi police Capt. Tim Wilson told the press, so she is charged with failing to inform anyone that the brawls occurred.

Eleven employees, four of whom left their jobs before this came to light, were visible on the confiscated cell phone videos that were first turned in to a security officer at the hospital. After observing several videos on the phone, the officer handed it over to a forensics unit who found more videos on the phone’s memory. All in all, 20 videos were found dating back to 2007. They don’t show anyone getting hurt or upset, but employees are heard laughing and cheering on their severely mentally disabled patients, encouraging them to wrestle and push one another.

What is it with people taping their crimes? They should get extra time just for their stupidity.
