Quite a bit has occurred in the past ten days. I pulled a few all-nighters this past weekend to change the way our real estate graphs will display, showing information going back as far as 1991 now in most of our displays. Simultaneously, it appears our site got so bugged-up that we had to rebuild it. The month of January saw a continuation of the slower sales for homes in the Tallahassee real estate market . Unit sales were very low even for January, with sales plummeting 46% compared to last January and Tallahassee registering our 31st straight year-over-year drop (January 2009 vs. January 2008). January is usually a very slow month for home sales in Tallahassee , as the holiday season in November and December keeps many away from buying (contracting to purchase) homes. This report is very informational as it shows the relative months of supply of homes, by area and price range, in the Tallahassee real estate market. Two people have filed to challenge Tallahassee Mayor John Marks in the 2010 election. Steve Stewart, a local businessman and founder of the online publication Tallahassee Reports, announced his bid for mayor Thursday. Another candidate, Woody Williams, filed for the seat July 29.
