Mr. Ken Cockrel Jr., the current President of the Detroit City Council, might become the next mayor of Detroit, Michigan if he succeeds current mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Mr. Kilpatrick is currently attending a hearing with the Michigan governor that could force him to resign office. I can only report this in its entirety as published on the Detroit Free Press website. This is indeed a tragic, but totally expected, turn of events for Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. It is a sad day for the black community that a young man, who was in such an awesome position to effect change, was consumed by pleasures of the flesh and was stupid enough to lie about it under oath.
