It is very interesting that Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who once said that he was on an "assignment from God," is now saying that the Lord is punishing him. He made that revelation s he addressed a crowd at Fellowship Chapel Church in Detroit, where he was participating in the Detroit Manpower Movement event which is aimed at getting more black men involved in mentoring programs, neighborhood patrols and other volunteer efforts. "Nothing just happens," Kilpatrick told the crowd. "I'm not... Read Full Story
The so-called culture of corruption that the Democrats labeled Republicans with before the 2006 election has been catching up with Democrats lately. Just two weeks ago we had the Eliot Spitzer debacle followed by the ongoing disgrace of his replacement, and now we have a Democrat Mayor charged with perjury. Of course if there is one thing that we learned from Democrats in the 1990’s, it is the fact that perjuring yourself is no big deal, and has no consequences, right Bill?

I still cannot believe the citizens of Detroit have not removed Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick from office. I commented on this pompous, hip-hop, political opportunist in an earlier posting . I cannot believe this is the guy trying to lead recall efforts. Doesn't anyone else in Detroit care? Well, if Detroit wants to keep Kilpatrick as mayor, than so be it. He is their problem. I take solace in the fact that I will never have to worry about him running for national office... Read Full Story

Some City Council members began moving toward the unprecedented action of removing the mayor from office if he doesn't quit. He lied repeatedly under oath and thought that somehow, he would get away with it. Kwame Kilpatrick was a one-time rising star in American urban politics who... Read Full Story
Whenever I get down on St. Louis politics I can bring myself up by saying five little words -- "At least we're not Detroit." I can't tell you how glad I am that we don't have Kwame "The Thugnificent" Kilpatrick as our mayor. St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay may be too beholding to outside business interests and neglects the needs of the black community, but he's not on CNN once a week with reporters reading out-loud his text message sexcapades. Of course if he were it would be a lot easier to... Read Full Story
