Mayor Fahey unveils new stadium drawing
Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey, today, unveiled a drawing of the proposed baseball stadium to be built just north of downtown Omaha. It was announced yesterday that the stadium is estimated to cost just over $100 million, which would be funded by a 2% tax on "entertainment," such as movies and prepared meals (tax does not include groceries).....For those of you who missed it...Omaha sportscaster Travis Justice flipped his lid yesterday on "The Big Show with Matt Perrault" (AM 590) after he learned of the proposed tax, which would add $1 to a $50 meal. Justice, who is apparently being forced at gunpoint to dine out (and could also stand to lose a few lbs.), screamed at Perrault that he "EAT(S) OUT THREE TIMES A DAY!"
Justice, who is also apparently forced to take his kids to Burger King, then screamed at Perrault after Perrault said that eating fast food is "lazy."
"YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO HAVE TO FEED KIDS IN A TIME-CRUNCH!" he bellowed. "YOU DON'T HAVE KIDS! YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE A PET!" he screamed. He then yelled, "YOU EAT FAST FOOD SOMETIMES. DOES THAT MEAN YOU'RE LAZY?" "Yes, it does. When I eat fast food, I'm being lazy," Perrault said, seemingly pissing off Justice even more.
He also, inexplicably, kept telling Perrault that "WE AREN'T TALKING ABOUT A 2% TAX; WE'RE TALKING ABOUT A 9% TAX!" (he achieved this figure by adding the 2% to the current 7% tax). Did he forget that he already pays the 7% tax?
