Tampa Firemen work with Insurance Co. to GOUGE you

give me a break. Even a tiny little bit of reporting and research would show what this really is.

This is a transparent effort to pump up the profits and the pensions for the Tampa Fire Dept. (by MILLIONS)Ask them where the Hillsborough County first responder dollars from Homeland Insecurity went ! (for the cameras along the interstate 75.) Ask them how this will benefit their pension fund !! (same way the Tampa Police Dept benefits from writing tickets) The insurance companies make contributions to the pension funds according to the # of tickets written and according to the # of incidents the Firemen have to bill for.

This is corruption. This is corruption being condoned by the Tampa Tribune. AND, there is NO public hearing scheduled. Are you believing THIS???? This is what Pam Iorio and the Tampa firefighters saved for her second term. Do you SERIOUSLY believe they just came up with this proposal in the last few days?? LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then, we're stuck with it forever in a continuing cycle of bald-faced GREED.

At the very least tell the whole story. I thank Ms. Kalfrin for including the quotes from the insurance rep. But, please tell the whole story.

Did anyone check LoCicero's claim that 40% of the accidents are not local residents?? Ask him where he got those statistics ! Let's see 'em. What difference does that MAKE, anyway???? Is it more ethical to charge an out of stater?? How long before the fire dept starts buying junker cars and wrecking in to out-of-staters on purpose just to get more money??? I mean this is MILLIONS of dollars we are talking.

I'm walking proof of what 'first responders' will do for money and for property. What they have done around myself and my loved ones and my home is unconscionable.
It's sad that we have to depend on an insurance company executive for the TRUTH: (with apologies for those honest members of same)

I love the part where he decides that if you live out of the city and work in the city you cause more wrecks. And 447 is not 40% more than 303 and his citing this statistic in making his 'estimate' is .... well, it's ridiculous.

I loathe to be treated as an idiot. They're so used to getting exactly what they want after getting the mayor elected that they think they'll get the rubber stamp on this, too. BUT, I'm not the only one speaking up. I hope more of you do before the firemen all jump on there, all 700 and state their beliefs that they need to GET MO money out of us. Sell your lexus. Give part of your salary back you're such committed community members.

Wow, an honest insurance man. I'm impressed.

Contact the Tampa City Council. DEMAND that they do not allow the firefighters to jack us. Demand a public hearing.

It wouldn't hurt to ask nicely that they stop using county Fire Dept. vehicles to stalk women and children and see how much money they save thus.And, too, it's the bad timing: They're not batting too well right now. They've got me exposing them, women being left to die, firefighters breaking in to cell phone stores with crowbars, murder trials upcoming, Tampa firefighters 'working here' but living in North Carolina .....
why even bother with the facade???
