First Lady Maggie Daley is undergoing radiation treatment for a cancerous lesion on a bone in her right leg, Mayor Richard Daley's office said tonight. On the advice of her doctor, the 66-year-old Daley will be using a wheelchair to minimize weight on the leg until treatment is complete. "She's going to be seen around town at some point in a wheelchair, and we might as well explain it upfront," said Jacquelyn Heard, the mayor's spokeswoman. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) voted Tuesday to reject Chicago's bid for the 2016 Olympics. The committee consisted of over 100 members, including 12 from Arab countries. Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley may have set the city up for a "fall" when he falsely boasted to the Ruler of Dubai during a visit there that his administration has been very considerate of American Arab needs.
