In his only YouTube video -- he seems to have stopped making them since he got reelected -- Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates lays out his goals and objectives. This is the only video on his YouTube channel and that's a total shame. The video looks like it was created from his kitchen. Bad idea. UC & Berkeley at odds over tree-sitters . "To starve people out of the trees does not seem rational," says Berkeley head looneytune and mayor Tom Bates . I'm inferring that by Bates' standards, it is rational to allow a group of mangy anarchists to trespass on Cal 's campus for 18 months, causing problems, damaging the trees, and throwing urine and feces below.
